Live score for Kote Mikaberidze’s My Grandmother
My Grandmother is a 1929 anti-Soviet satire film by Kote Mikaberidze. Miles Tuncel (saxophone) and I (guitar) performed a live score to accompany the film as part of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive’s yearly Cinespen event. We performed a score based on some loose compositional structures rooted heavily in the spirit of free jazz improvisation.
