For my advanced typography class at university, I was tasked with creating a creative specimen booklet for the typeface, Plantin. The subject of interest here is chess and how it relates to the typeface. There’s references to modern day chess players, historically famous individuals, and even Plantin’s usage in modern advertising/design. The size and format of this piece reflects a playbook.
