My mom moved to New York City from Grenada in 1987, dedicating her life to working, raising my brother and me, and making endless sacrifices. Though she always supported my passion for art, she never had the time to experience it herself. In 2020, her and my Dad moved back to Grenada, but on a recent visit to NYC, I finally took her to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for her first-ever visit to an art museum.
